We all wear masks.
In the office, when out with friends, and at parties.
And
that’s ok. Those masks aren’t who we are, but they make us feel comfortable.
They make it easier for us to connect with people and present a version of
ourselves that is appropriate in the workplace.
Behind
each mask lies a story. Some told, some untold, mysterious, beautiful, and
unique. And it’s those stories that tell us more about the person behind the
mask.
But
sometimes it can be difficult to separate who you truly are from the mask you
wear. It becomes difficult to understand which mysterious story is yours and
which one you have merely borrowed.
And
sometimes that’s ok. But there will be a time when you will want to know the
person you really are. So, to make it easier for you when that time comes, here
are some tips that will help you reconnect with yourself and keep track of your
actual story.
1) Take a break from your environment
and your commitments. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy. Even a couple of
hours doing what you love will make a huge difference.
2) Be yourself around those you love and
trust. You tend to lose yourself when you keep the mask on, all day, every day.
So make it a point to be yourself around those you are comfortable with.
3) Make sure you have an idea of who
you really are and be comfortable with that. If you aren’t sure or you’re not
very comfortable, see what can be done to fix that.
The point here is very simple. Your story is precious. It is unique. So don’t lose out on it or on the person you truly are.
And
if you need something to remind you of that, this finely crafted, limited edition,
