1. Lord Rama is widely believed to be the 7th
incarnation of Lord Vishnu in the 10 avatars. The first six avatars were
Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, and Parshurama, and the other three
avatars are Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki.
2. It is believed that Lord Rama has been
worshipped in human form since the end of Treta Yuga, which is estimated to
have been 1,296,000 years ago. Other incarnations of Lord Vishnu during Treta
Yuga included Vamana and Parashurama.
3. Lord Rama, who is known as
"Suryavanshi", was born into the "Ikshvaku" dynasty. This
dynasty was founded by King Ikshvaku, the son of Lord Surya.
4. According to the book Vishnu Sahasranama which
lists a thousand names of Lord Vishnu, "Rama" is the 394th name.
5. Maharishi Vashistha named Lord Rama by combining
two bijaksharas - "Agni Beej" and "Amrit Beej". According
to Vashistha, these two letters together provide strength to the mind, body,
and soul.
6. In the Mahabharata, Lord Shiva is said to have
declared that repeating the name of Rama three times brings the same grace as

7. At the behest of Rishi Vikramaditya, Lord Rama
attempted to take the life of the King of Kashi, Yayati. To save the king, Lord
Hanuman stepped in to protect him, reciting the name of Lord Rama. However,
Lord Rama's arrows were rendered ineffective due to the power of Hanuman's
words and Lord Rama was forced to accept defeat.
8. The Vanar Sena, led by "Nal" and
"Neel", constructed the Ram Setu bridge in just six days, stretching
from Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu to Mannar in Sri Lanka. Measuring approximately
30 km in length, the bridge was a remarkable feat of engineering.
9. Ahiravan, Ravana's brother, attempted to
kidnap Lord Rama and Lakshmana and bring them to Hades to make offerings to
Mahamaya Devi. However, Lord Hanuman was able to rescue them by defeating
Ahiravan.
10. For 11,000 years, Lord Rama reigned over the
kingdom of Ayodhya, an era which is now remembered as "Rama Rajya".
